Project 3: 5 Panels

These slides are all poster art for the story of Beelzy, before he started working birthday parties. These are all advertisements for the Sideshow Circus, the best circus in town. Beelzy had high hopes for being the scariest clown ever. However, working in an environment with people whose acts aren’t that good doesn’t help him get any closer to his dream of being the scariest clown. The Sideshow circus quickly shut down due to the lack of an audience at all, and Beelzy was forced to alienate himself like every other clown and become the funny birthday party clown. One misunderstood fact about clowns is, no clown like to be funny, they rather scare the shoes of a person from frightening them rather then make them kick off from laughter.

This is my first panel, it involves one of the attractions that is a failure. Beelzy use to work with Mustache Dave before their business together went underneath. Since then Beelzy has been working Birthday parties to earn some money and become the horrifying clown that he always believed he was meant to be.

I was thinking about using the circus as the scenario. I’m still unsure of what I want to focus on, but I liked the idea of the Sideshow/Freak show posters that are used to attract people to the show.

Beelzy Bub is an energetic clown who loves to get an easy laugh. However, when it comes to his jokes, Beelzy is the only one laughing. Beelzy misinterprets the role of a clown, “to make others laugh”; He has too much fun laughing himself. Not to say his jokes are boring, they are actually FrIgHtEnInG! Scaring people and playing cruel pranks are the only jokes inside his bag of tricks. Since Beelzy is always scaring people away, it leaves him lonely without anyone left to scare. Can Beelzy fight his urges to scare others in order to have an audience? If not, Beelzy may never become a normal clown.
